It has taken forever for me to update this, but yes we are having a boy.  His name will be Andrew Dewayne.  It is hard to believe that in only 4 months he will be here!!  We have already put most of the nursey together and I have even gotten a few outfits or him.

Here are some ultrasound pics from that wonderful visit to the doctor:

getting excited and can’t contain it January 5, 2009

So this week has been crazy.  My thoughts have pretty much been, ” is this baby a boy or girl”.  I am so ready to find out but I still have a week to go.  I have taken a few of those online old wives tale quizzes and they have been of no help since one said boy, two said girl and one said it could go either way.  Anyone else feel this way before they found out?

Baby Names January 2, 2009

Filed under: Pregnancy — dawnmarieboyd @ 10:56 am

Since everyone else seems to be reviling their baby names I have decided to reveal ours as well.  We had some disagreements like I really wanted Lillian or Alexis and Paul wanted Samantha for a girl, but we could not agree on those.  Our boy name however has been set in stone since we found out I was pregnant.  So here it goes:

Boy:  Andrew Dewayne

Girl: Megan Grace or Megan Roberta (after my great grandmother, grandmother and Aunt on my moms side).

So those are our names and a week from Tuesday we find out which one it will be.  I am so excited that we have reached this point.

My Birthday December 25, 2008

Filed under: Christmas, Pregnancy — dawnmarieboyd @ 10:47 am

It’s my 23rd birthday today and its hard to believe how fast time flys.  It seems like just yesterday I was a senior in High school.  I love having my birthday on Christmas most of the time.  My Family has been pretty good about separating the two.  I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family who never forget to make me feel special even on a crazy fun day like today.  So anyway Merry Christmas and I am off to celebrate the last birthday that will be about me since I will always have a kid.  I just know that Christmas will be about them every year from now on hehe.  I am still excited though.  I cant think of better way to spend your birthday then seeing your kids smile even though I have not experianced that yet.

Baby update:  I find out if its a girl or boy on Jan. 13th at 8am!!!

Lets not forget the true meaning of Christmas December 15, 2008

Filed under: Christmas — dawnmarieboyd @ 11:52 am

It  is so easy to get so caught up in the Christmas rush that we forget for a moment what Christmas really means.  Christmas is celebrating the birth of our Savior some 2000 years ago.  Its about showing love to those we care about and not pushing them aside because we have to get this done or that done before the big day is here.

I read this poem this morning and thought it would be a great thing to share with you all.

1 Corinthians 13 Christmas Style
©By Sharon Jaynes
If I decorate my house perfectly with lovely plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights, and shiny glass balls, but do not show love to my family – I’m just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals, and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family – I’m just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family – It profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties, and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn’t envy another home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way.
Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return, but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
Love never fails.  Video games will break; pearl necklaces will be lost; golf clubs will rust.  But giving the gift of love will endure.

Christmas is just around the corner now December 1, 2008

I am so excited that Christmas is only 25 days away now as well as my birthday hehe.  It seems like it came so fast this year.  We have already decorated the house inside and out minus the Christmas tree since we are getting a live one.  I have even finished much of my Christmas shopping thanks to Pampered Chef.  I am so ready!  I still can’t believe that this will be my last Christmas and birthday before we have a child.  Its kinda hard to believe right now.  Anyway now its Christmas card time.  I am going to try to send some this year.  It kinda passed me by last year.  I also need to make a list of people I need to bake cookies for since only family is getting gifts this year.  I love Christmas even in its busyness!!

We all go through trails in life and I thought this was worth sharing with you guys. It’s by Angela L. Craig.

What trials or tests are you facing today?
How are you responding to your circumstances? Do you feel defeated, tired or angry? Are you at the point that you are ready to try again?
If you are ready to try again, take these actions:
            a) Change your mind-set to reflect God’s word. Trials are not obstacles but opportunities!
            b) Don’t stop moving towards your goal. Wishing your circumstances will change will never move you out of adversity. Ask God to help you see the path He would like you to take. God will never fail you!
            c) Anticipate and embrace the personal growth and self-discovery that will take place as you persevere!
            d) Share the lessons you have learned with others that need hope. God can use your past to begin the healing process of another person’s pain!

definitely due for an update October 6, 2008

So as most of you already know i am pregnant.  We are expecting our bundle of joy on June 10th.  We are so excited.  God is awesome!  So the story.  Since the miscarriage we have been trying again but with the attitude of hope.  each month we hoped I would be pregnant.  However after the faith series we realized that we needed to believe for it to happen instead of just hopeing.  So we believed this last month instead of hoped and sure enough it worked.  Thanks Pastor Steve for this wonderful message series, and thanks to Susan Ramsey for keeping me in cheack with it.
